Nürburg. With a starting grid of well over 30 cars, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PETN) entered the double-header weekend as part of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS). Two 4-hour races provided thrilling motorsport across all classes and led to the first championship title being decided even before the season finale. With a second place and a victory in the amateur drivers’ classification, Marco van Ramshorst and Ralf-Peter Bonk from pb performance (#906) secured the title in the Cup 2 AM class early on. On Saturday, Alexander Hardt, Benjamin Hites and Benjamin Koslowski from BLACK FALCON Team ZIMMERMANN (#900) won the Cup 2 class, whilst in the Cup 3 class, Alexander Fielenbach and Oskar Sandberg from Smyrlis Racing (#953) secured the class victory. In Sunday’s race, SRS Team Sorg Rennsport (#901), with Fabio Grosse and Patrik Grütter, won the Cup 2 class, while W&S Motorsport (#962), with Moritz Oberheim and Lorenz Stegmann, took the win in Cup 3. Alongside the two championship rounds, the Porsche 911 Challenge was also in the spotlight this weekend. The new car was unveiled at the PETN Village ahead of its debut in the PETN in the 2027 season.

BLACK FALCON Team ZIMMERMANN and Smyrlis Racing repeat their success from the Six-Hour Race

In a thrilling three-way battle in the Cup 2 class, Alexander Hardt, Benjamin Hites and Benjamin Koslowski from the BLACK FALCON Team ZIMMERMANN (#900) ultimately came out on top. The trio won Saturday’s race ahead of Mühlner Motorsport (#904) with Nico Bastian, Joshua Bednarski and Tim Scheerbarth, and ahead of Team LIQUI MOLY by BLACK FALCON (#902) with Ryan Harrison, Raphael Rennhofer and Leon Wassertheurer. Harrison, Rennhofer and Wassertheurer secured an extra point each for setting the fastest time in qualifying and in the race. The PRO/AM classification was won by Kersten Jodexnis, Richard-Sven Karl Jodexnis and Robin Chrzanowski (PRO) from Clickversicherung Team (#919). The amateur drivers’ classification in Saturday’s race was won by Alex Koch, Klaus Koch and Niklas Koch from Smyrlis Racing (#910).

In the Cup 3 class on Saturday, Alexander Fielenbach and Oskar Sandberg from Smyrlis Racing (#953) extended their championship lead with another victory. They were followed in second place by Toby Goodman, Michal Makes and Marius Rauer from W&S Motorsport (#961), ahead of Leonard Oehme and Moritz Oehme from Team 9und11 (#944). In the PRO/AM classification, John Lee Schambony, Moritz Wiskirchen and Nick Wüstenhagen (PRO) from Extreme Racing (#977) took the win, whilst Constantin Laube, Henry Lindloff and Max Rosam from Smyrlis Racing (#951) secured their second victory in the amateur drivers’ classification.

Rain makes for an exciting Sunday race and decides the championship

Mixed conditions in the early stages, followed by heavy rain, made Sunday’s race particularly thrilling. In the end, SRS Team Sorg Rennsport (#901) with Fabio Grosse and Patrik Grütter were the first to cross the finish line in the Cup 2 class. A lap behind them came the previous day’s winners, Alexander Hardt, Benjamin Hites and Benjamin Koslowski from BLACK FALCON Team ZIMMERMANN (#900).

“Yesterday’s win and second place today were really good – it’s incredibly close, but we’re now leading the championship in the Cup 2 class. The car was perfect on both days, as were the conditions yesterday, but not today. It was really difficult in the mixed conditions and the heavy rain. I still had a lot of fun in the Cup car, though. For the season finale, the aim is to score maximum points, because it's so close,” summarises Benjamin Koslowski.

The podium was completed by Nico Bastian, Joshua Bednarski and Tim Scheerbarth from Mühlner Motorsport (#904). In the PRO/AM classification, Kersten Jodexnis, Richard-Sven Karl Jodexnis and Robin Chrzanowski (PRO) from Clickversicherung Team (#919) claimed victory once again. Following a second-place finish in Saturday’s race and victory in the amateur classification in Sunday’s race, Marco van Ramshorst and Ralf-Peter Bonk were crowned PETN Cup 2 AM Champions 2026 already before the season finale.

“We started the season with the aim of winning the AM classification. The fact that we’ve already achieved that in the penultimate race is a dream come true – we’re super happy. In the final race, we’ll now try our luck and perhaps even win the PRO/AM classification,” says Marco van Ramshorst.

After a Saturday marred by bad luck, Moritz Oberheim and Lorenz Stegmann from W&S Motorsport (#962) went on to secure a Cup 3 class victory on Sunday, having already set the fastest time in qualifying that morning. In doing so, they pushed Alexander Fielenbach and Oskar Sandberg from Smyrlis Racing (#953) – who nevertheless remain championship leaders – down to second place. Calvin de Groot and Heiko Eichenberg from SRS Team Sorg Rennsport (#959) finished in third place. With a second PRO/AM victory on Sunday, John Lee Schambony, Moritz Wiskirchen and Nick Wüstenhagen (PRO) from Extreme Racing (#977) capped off a perfect weekend. The amateur classification on Sunday was won by Nick Deissler, Darian Donkel and Aaron Wenisch from SRS Team Sorg Rennsport (#949).

“It was a demanding weekend, but we made the best of it. With a win and a second place, we’ve picked up a lot of points and are leading the AM standings. If we do well in the season finale, we’ll be champions,” says Darian Donkel.

In second place were the winners of Race One, Constantin Laube, Henry Lindloff and Max Rosam from Smyrlis Racing (#951).

“Everything went really well yesterday and we managed to secure victory in the AM classification – we were really happy about that! Today’s conditions were much tougher than yesterday’s, and it was my first time racing in the rain. It was really tricky, as I was on slicks the whole time, but I learnt a lot. We’re all the more delighted that we managed to secure second place,” says Henry Lindloff.

New addition to the PETN 2027: Porsche 911 Challenge

In the PETN Village, the Porsche one-make series presented the new Porsche 911 Challenge this weekend. The new entry-level racing car from Porsche Motorsport is essentially based on the 911 GT3 road car, has been extensively developed for the racetrack, and will join the PETN next year. Alongside teams, drivers and interested parties, fans were also able to take a close look at the new car in the PETN Village.

In the 2027 season, the PETN will therefore feature three classes. In the Cup 3 class, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS (982) will remain eligible to compete, whilst the new 911 Challenge will contest the races in the Cup 2 class. The current Cup 2 class will be renamed Cup 1 and will comprise the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and the Porsche 911 Cup.

The PETN season finale takes place on 10 October and covers a distance of four hours.
