With second and third place overall, the Cup 2 class achieved the best PETN result in the history of the Porsche one-make series at the ADAC 6h Ruhr-Pokal race. On the overall podium finished class winners Steve Jans, Tobias Müller and Gabriele Piana from BLACK FALCON Team 48 LOSCH (#148) as well as Daniel Blickle, David Jahn and Tim Scheerbarth from AVIA W&S Motorsport (#120). Meanwhile, Joshua Bednarski, Lucas Daugaard and Moritz Oberheim from AVIA W&S Motorsport (#962) secured the early championship in the Cup 3 class.
The thoughts of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring continue to be with those affected by the incident that occurred in the paddock of the test and set-up runs on the Friday evening before the race. Further information can be found on the official pages of the NLS. Following the incident, the NLS organisers decided to let the ADAC 6h Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen take place.
Qualifying on Saturday morning started delayed at 9:00 and took place over a shortened distance of 60 minutes. The AVIA W&S Motorsport team qualified on pole position in both classes. With a lap time of 8:10.773 minutes, David Jahn placed the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) with starting number 120 in first place in Cup 2, while Moritz Oberheim in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS (982) with starting number 962 secured the best starting position in the Cup 3 class. Oberheim lapped the 24.358-kilometre combination of the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit and the Nordschleife in 8:37.166 minutes.
On Saturday, the race started as planned at 12:00, but was interrupted with the red flag at the start of the second lap after an accident due to rain. As a result, eight cars in the SP9 class, among others, were unable to restart at 14:00, which meant that the leaders of the Cup 2 class moved up in the overall standings. With class victory and second place overall, Steve Jans, Tobias Müller and Gabriele Piana from BLACK FALCON Team 48 LOSCH (#148) secured a result on the overall NLS podium for the PETN for the first time. Mustafa Mehmet Kaya and Mike Stursberg with PRO-driver Gabriele Piana from BLACK FALCON (#103) won the Cup 2 amateur driver classification ahead of Karsten Krämer and Fidel Leib from KKrämer Racing (#112), who were supported this weekend by PRO-driver Hendrik Still. Joshua Bednarski, Lucas Daugaard and Moritz Oberheim led car number 962 from AVIA W&S Motorsport to early championship success with a class win in the Cup 3 class. After the 6-hour race, they have an unassailable lead in the team and driver standings in the Cup 3 class. The trio is also in a promising position in the overall NLS standings: Bednarski, Daugaard and Oberheim lead the table by 16 points with two races to go. Mads Gravsen, Harley Haughton and Björn Simon from SRS Team Sorg Rennsport (#949) finished the race in second place behind the Cup 3 champions. Third place went to Heiko Eichenberg, Fabio Grosse and Patrik Grütter in the sister car with starting number 959.
