Meuspath. After a successful debut season, the Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PEETN) started its second season in December 2024 with an expanded field of 16 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) as part of the Digital Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (DNLS). A total of 45 drivers from ten nations competed in the four 3h-races of the season in the digital Porsche one-make series. SCHERER eSPORT (#116) with Raphael Rennhofer secured the championship. The Esports team based in Meuspath thus managed to defend their title in the PEETN. With four wins from four races, the team also won the championship in the overall DNLS standings. In the newly created PEETN amateur drivers' championship, the title went to Mike Halder and Kevin Koller from Halder Motorsport (#107), who were crowned the first AM-champions in the PEETN.
Three wins in a row were enough for SCHERER eSPORT 116 with Raphael Rennhofer to secure the championship in the PEETN team and driver standings in the penultimate race of the season. As already determined champions, however, they still managed to make a thrilling last race. With a nerve-wracking photo finish, the team also won the season finale and secured the championship win in the DNLS overall ranking with a maximum points score. Second place in the PEETN team ranking was taken by the sister car with starting number 117, ahead of Apex Racing Team (#119). Second place in the drivers‘ championship goes to Luca Alpert, who competed in the sister car at the start of the season and then took the #116 car as Raphael Rennhofer's teammate. Last year's PEETN champion Julian Reimer from SCHERER eSPORT 117 completes the championship podium. The first champions in the AM drivers’ championship are Mike Halder and Kevin Koller from Halder Motorsport (#107). They won the classification ahead of Christopher Wolfgruber from Austrian Simracers DNLS (#137). Mads Gravsen and Harley Haughton from SRS Team Sorg Rennsport (#100) took third place after the four championship races, with two victories in the ranking.
As in the previous year, the PEETN teams are invited to a joint season closing event at the season opener of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PETN) at the Nürburgring to underline the synergies of the digital and real-life one-make series. The three best-placed teams and AM-champions will be honoured with championship trophies and prize money at a festive awards ceremony. In addition, an extended supporting programme awaits them, including individual simulator training under the direction of experienced Manthey engineers.
„The second season of the Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring has once again impressed us with exciting, top-class sport. We are very pleased that, in addition to the duels at the top, the new AM drivers' championship has also provided numerous highlights. Congratulations to the successful teams and drivers and many thanks to everyone who registered for the season in the PEETN. Now we are looking forward to the joint season closing event,” sums up Julia Klee, project manager of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring.
