Manthey presents new virtual Porsche one-make series

Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring

Meuspath. The established one-make series "Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring" (PETN) is entering virtual motorsport and expanding its race calendar. The "Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring" (PEETN) will be held from December 2023 as a virtual Porsche one-make series as part of the fifth season of the "Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series" (DNLS).

The championship will be decided over five rounds in the popular racing simulation iRacing. A 40-minute qualifying session is followed by a race lasting three to four hours. Fourteen Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) cars are entered in the PEETN class. The team with the most championship points at the end of the season will be awarded the official title of "Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring Champion". The DNLS regulations, which contain detailed information about the one-make series, have already been published and can be found here.

The first virtual race will be held on December 2, 2023. On the same day, the winners of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring 2023 will be honoured at the Porsche Night of Champions. The first PEETN season finale will take place on March 2, 2024. Afterwards, trophies and prize money will then be presented to the teams at a festive awards ceremony. Just three weeks after the season finale of the virtual one-make series, the PETN will already start the 2024 season with the first NLS round on March 23.

“We are delighted to extend the PETN season with the "Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring", giving teams, drivers and fans the opportunity to experience exciting racing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife during the winter months," says Julia Klee, Project Manager Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring. "In this way, we are complementing the existing one-make series concept so that the participants can continue to develop their driving skills and compete for a championship title after the official Nordschleife season. In particular, we are looking forward to the additional cooperation with the well-known teams and drivers of PETN, while at the same time getting to know new faces in virtual racing." The races will be broadcast on the official channels of the NLS on YouTube, Facebook and Twitch.

In addition to shaping the championship, the one-make series focuses specifically on driver support and development. Participating drivers in the PEETN will have the opportunity to take part in training sessions in the race simulator and to exchange knowledge with experienced sim racers.
